However, they still invested considerably more in 2013 than they have earlier in the decade. Most of that spending went to surface construction and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"487\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87751\" style=\"width:620px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_3.jpg 487w, https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_3-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>And they keep exploring<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><\/strong>Similarly, the loss of company profits does not seem to have significantly slowed down spending on exploration and development, at least not compared to the rest of the decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"487\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87752\" style=\"width:620px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_4.jpg 487w, https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_4-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Production keeps growing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite falling prices, BC miners have steadily increased their overall shipments since 2009. Prices may not be as good as they once were, but BC miners are still moving a lot of minerals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"487\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87753\" style=\"width:620px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_5.jpg 487w, https:\/\/resourcework2.devstudio.work\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Number_5-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New mines spur activity<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>While BC miners are clearly facing big challenges on the financial side, there appears to be a strong appetite to discover and develop new mines.
